Nicola’s perception of reality

I’ve been spending a lot of time awake by myself lately (Ava and I have managed to achieve perfect opposite sleep schedules), I’m tired of packing for tonight and the internet is slow as hell, so I’m struggling to entertain myself without frying my brain.

I found an article on cracked that actually has a fantastic example of how visual math ties into the science in Nico and Mel’s continuity, in the experience of Jason Padgett, who acquired savant-like understanding of math after being beaten in 2002.

it’s fantastic to know this exists and has something written on it by somebody who can describe it properly. This is how Nicola can perform alchemy with no training, this is what the science of it looks like.

It’s all beyond me, which is why i don’t want to write the story, but it’s really fascinating.
