Opening post
This is a blog where I can ramble about my characters and post sketches and other developing work on them. There are three pieces I’m focused on lately, all of them fairly new, with the bulk of the work yet to do. I have a few personal goals that I hope will someday be reflected in my fiction. I have a lot of learning to do in storytelling, across all the mediums I’d like to dabble in (sequential art, animation, prose), I’m not even certain what kind of stories I want to tell. Right now my focus is creating believable, dimensional characters.
some goals I’m working toward:
- honestly strong female characters. I don’t want to limit myself to the same tropes that male characters follow to be considered “strong” leads.
- I want all of my characters to be equally relatable, fallible beings. I don’t want to tell good guys vs. bad guys stories, I want characters on all sides of any conflict to be as human as I can make them, with thought out motives behind every action.
- a real character-driven story that doesn’t boil down to a slice-of-life
and it might be fair to say I really like writing about lesbiansā„
